Our membership at the present is 110+ strong.  It would be nice to see more participation by our members in helping with our events.  Remember this club belongs to all of us and we can all contribute in many different ways and things that are needed to keep our club enjoyable and fun.  Our Board of Whatever has formed a “Call Ladies Committee” to contact our members and recruit their help for our activities.  You may contact our “Call Ladiesat any time to offer your help or suggestions.  Please feel free to contact Linda Thomen (352) 409-8354, Ginny Mortillaro, 352-242-2398 or Audrey Seidler (352) 242-0463.

A great time was had by 142 residents at our Annual St. Valentine’s Dance. Our Board of Whatever members worked very hard to make it a beautiful event.  Kudos to all of you!   Special thanks go to our Vice Queen Sandee Kosner who chaired the “Sweets Committee”.  Ice Cream Sundaes were the special treat of the night accompanied by various types of cakes and cookies.  The music was enjoyed by all our “Dancing with the Stars.”  We also cheered our brave contestants who participated in our “How Well Do You Know Your Spouse” game that was hosted by our Mischievous Master of Ceremonies, Hersh Bagby.

A beautiful golf cart was prepared by our Vice Queen Sandee Kosner and Red Hatter, Terri Eaheart for the Mardi Gras Parade.  Other Red Hat passengers were Katherine Eaheart and Audrey Seidler.  Thank you, ladies, for representing our Chapter with a true Red Hat Spirit and Song.  After the parade, we were awarded Third Place for our great golf cart at the dinner/dance!  You Go Red Hat Girls!!  That’s the !!!

On Saturday, April 25, 2009 is the celebration of the 11th Anniversary of the Red Hat Society.  Our Chapter has been invited by the Red Hat Society Queen’s Council of Central Florida to attend “An Affair at Tiffany’s” in the Crown Plaza Hotel of Orlando located at 5555 Hazeltine Dr., on the right side of 436 before you get to the Airport.  The event will be from 11:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.  Vendor shopping will be open in the lobby at 11:00 A.M.  You have a choice of Boneless Breast of Chicken on bed of Caesar Salad or Grilled Fillet of Salmon on bed of Caesar Salad, assorted rolls, coffee, Tea or Iced Tea, & White Raspberry Torte.  Cash bar available for wine, mixed drinks and sodas.  Also we will be dancing along to the entertaining sounds of “Trumpet Blues Big Band”.  The cost is $30 per person (Non-Refundable).

Please make checks payable to Ileana Burgos.  We will be meeting up at the Clubhouse parking lot to carpool at 9:45 AM. Red & Purple Regalia is REQUIRED.  Any questions, please call Ileana at 352-404-5892.

The Summit Green Red Hatters will be sponsoring a Fashion Show by Dress Barn on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.  The $5.00 minimum donation that will be requested to attend will be donated completely to The Mike Connelly Hospice House.  Our club will provide the treats and refreshments free of charge to all ladies in our community.  The SGRH’s will also contribute $1.00 for every “ticket” that is sold to attend.  The “ticket” will consist of your contribution of $5.00 or more submitted in an envelope that will be provided to you.  All checks are to be payable directly to the Mike Connelly Hospice House.

We will be needing many to make this event a success, so please call one of our “Call Ladies” mentioned above and sign up to help with food & refreshments, decorations, model, set up, clean up, registration, raffle, donation auditors, etc. etc.   This activity will be open to all the ladies in our community.

All those who are interested in volunteering for this event are invited to attend our next Board of Whatever meeting which will be held in the 19th Hole on Monday, March 23, 2009, 7:00 P. M.  We will start forming the various committees for this event at our Board of Whatever meeting, so please mark your calendars.

We also need for our upcoming Zumba Blast Party which will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.  Snacks & refreshments will be provided.  Zumba for those of you who do not know is a fusion of Latin and International music.  It is a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body; maximizing caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.  In other words it is dancing, exercising and fun, all at the same time.  So put on your favorite sneakers and come to the ballroom to have fun, make new friends, laugh, giggle, dance and ZUMBA!!!!!
